Homemade Baby Food
The baby food stage is often the easiest to adapt for a food allergy. There are so many great, healthy options for baby food and often babies are easy to please before they reach the picky stage.
While I have some commercially prepared baby food on hand for convenience, I have always made our own food. It is easy, extremely cost-effective (especially if you are feeding organic foods rather than buying prepared organic baby food), and the options are limitless. When I look at the baby food section in a store, you pretty much see the same 20 foods, in different combination. When you make your own, there are no limits!
I am not going to list recipes here because they are readily available online. My favorite website is:
Wholesome Baby Food
If you are the book type, or the type who wants VERY basic instructions, try this book from your local library:
Blender Baby Food, by Nicole Young and Nadine Day
I looked at several before buying, and found that many were ridiculously complicated recipes! I appreciated the basic recipes in this book when I was first getting comfortable with making food.
